Retail: SIR30207 Certificate III in Retail - 2012

» Course Description:

: If you want a supervisory role in retail, this is the course for you. You’ll train on the latest retail technology, developing real-world skills and enhancing your employability. You’ll learn about developing employee relations, maintaining store security and overseeing work teams. Working in retail offers job progression and the chance to work in many different environments from food to fashion, audio to automotive.

» Course Guide: Certificate III in Retail - Distance

» Essentials, Prerequisites: Students will need a minimum Year 8 or equivalent qualification. Students must been 15 years and over. Students must also be motivated, show an awareness of industry requirements and keenness to work in the industry. No academic pre-requisites for this course, but the expectation are that students will have achieved an educational level that will enable them to achieve course objectives. Successful completion of the following units from Certificate II in Retail must be obtained by the student or two years full time experience in the retail industry.

» Pathways:

: Upon successful completion of this course students will be eligible to receive the Certificate III in Retail. Certificate III in Retail has been designed to give you the skills to manage and operate in a retail environment. These skills will allow you to manage both staff and customers. Students interested in further study after the completion of this course may go onto Certificate IV or a Diploma in Retail.

» Recognition of Prior Learning, Credit Transfers:

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): Students wishing to apply for RPL need to indicate this on the Enrolment Form.  RPL Application Forms are available from the Course Co-ordinator. 

Credit Transfer:  Credit Transfer is the recognition and acknowledgment of modules or units of competency acquired through prior formal credentialed training (identical academic experience).
Community College Gippsland grants Credit Transfer under our Mutual Recognition obligations.
