Racing: RGR30208 Certificate III in Racing (Advanced Stablehand)

» Course Description:

The Certificate III in Racing (Advanced Stablehand) reflects the role of persons who are responsible for the daily operations in an Agistment centre, thoroughbred or harness racing stable.  This course will give the participant practical and comprehensive skills in horse husbandry in areas such as: handling horses safely, equine nutrition, first aid, health and wellbeing, anatomy and other areas associated with horse management. This course has basic Harness Driving units to offer the participant an opportunity to learn how to tack up and drive a horse in Harness in a trackwork environment. The Harness specific units can be changed to suit Thoroughbred requirements.

The course is an ideal starting point for people with little or no experience to learn how to handle horses in a safe and friendly environment with horses to suit all levels of experience. It is also an opportunity for people who already have skills and experience with horses to be recognised for this knowledge and gain a Nationally Recognised Qualification that is the Standard in the Equine & Racing Industry.
