» Course Description:
This course is designed for people who would like to work or obtain qualifications in the disability industry. This course aims to develop the skills and knowledge required to support people with disabilities in supported accommodation, day placement, in .the community or in their own home.
Pathways: Certificate IV graduates have the skills and knowledge to support Coordination or Management positions within the disability sector. Graduates can continue study through the Diploma in Disability Work or Certificate IV in Community Services (Lifestyle & Leisure).

» Essentials, Prerequisites: Entry requirements: Students must been 15 years and over and hold a minimum Year 10 or equivalent qualification. Students must also be motivated, show an awareness of industry requirements and keenness to work in the industry. No academic pre-requisites for this course, but the expectation are that students will have achieved an educational level that will enable them to achieve course objectives.

» Recognition of Prior Learning, Credit Transfers:
Students wishing to apply for RPL need to indicate this on the Enrolment Form. RPL Application Forms are available from the Course Co-ordinator.
Credit Transfer is the recognition and acknowledgment of modules or units of competency acquired through prior formal credentialed training (identical academic experience).
Community College Gippsland Ltd. grants Credit Transfer under our Mutual Recognition obligations.
