Landslip Information Forum

An exceptionally wet winter has caused hundreds of landslips across Gippsland.
So What do we do now?

Community College Gippsland in conjunction with Baw Baw Shire are holding a FREE forum and
workshop looking at the effect of heavy rain on Agricultural soil and Farm production. Topics will
include preventing and restoring landslips, Good drainage and lane design.

Roger Wrigley - An engineer with 30+ years of experience as well as an academic who serves the University of
Melbourne and Monash University. His work has concentrated on drainage projects, flood mitigation, the design of farm
tracks and reducing the incidence of lameness. Roger will provide details and respond to questions on farm planning,
slope stabilisation biological and mechanical, water management and farm water supply, wastewater management,
paddock and track drainage, laneway design and construction. Roger will be able to explain how to go about track
design and drainage solutions.

Steve Haughton – from Baw Baw Native Plants will talk about what tubestock species will be best suited to areas
affected by landslip, direct seeding principles as well as discussing what products are out on the market that help to
reduce soil movement. Baw Baw Native Plants specialises in growing local native tubestock, providing a planting
service, on-going site maintenance and stocks a wide range of revegetation supplies.

Grants Available for various districts - Industry Representatives will provide Information and application forms will
also be available for - Baw Baw Shire Rural Tree & Fencing Grants, Landcare Grants and Melbourne Water Grants.

Dan Spencer - Community College Gippsland will discuss Sustainable Agriculture courses on offer.

stabilising and rehablitating landslip areas. * Please wear appropriate clothing.
